Ameda Sue Ross

Ameda Sue Ross, age 76 years, 1 month, and 7 days, passed away Friday, December 12, 2025, at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.

She was born November 5, 1949, in Stearns, Kentucky, to Cliford West and Virginia Bryant West. Sue was a graduate of McCreary County High School and had attended Somerset Community College where she completed her degree for Licensed Practical Nurse.  She worked for many years for a home health agency and later worked as a registered nurse in the cardiac unit at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital until her retirement.  She was a faithful member of East Apple Tree Baptist Church. Sue enjoyed quilting, painting, and growing flowers, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Jim Ross, and a sister, Nancy West M.D.

Survivors include sons, Jimmie E. Ross Jr. and wife, Angie, and Christopher Ross, and wife, Jennifer, grandchild, Megan Green, and great grandchildren, Dallas, Rebecca and Ava.

In keeping with Sue’s wishes a private ceremony with immediate family and close friends was held in the chapel of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.
