Janis Moore Theaman

Janis Moore Theaman, age 78, of Whitley City passed away Wednesday November 12, 2025 and was placed in the care of Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.

Honoring her wishes, she was cremated.

Janis was born on September 1, 1947, in the Holly Hill community to Elmer and Bessie Branham Moore. She grew up attending Pleasant Run Methodist Church and was a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. Janis was a gifted crafter who enjoyed painting, quilting, and spending time with friends playing cards and bingo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norman Theaman; her brothers, Luther Moore, Walter Moore, and Cecil Moore; and her sisters, Melva Sue Babcock, Joyce Ann Murphy, and Sharon Kay Moore.

Janis is survived by two daughters, Veneda Vann and Sherry Theaman; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; special nieces, Melissa Murphy and Wanda Sarver; and special great-nieces, Clarissa Hobbs and Kara Gibson.
