Virginia Kirtland

Virginia Kirtland, age 78, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Monday, November 10, 2025 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 7:00 pm in the chapel of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends after 6:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

She was born February 12, 1947, in Maryville, Tennessee, to Ernest Manning and Emma Vinyard Manning. Virginia was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of Oak Hill Baptist Church in Somerset, Kentucky. She enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, reading and cooking.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Chuck Kirtland, daughter, Cassandra Mayer, brother, Billy Manning, and sister, Paula Manning Stephens.

Survivors include her son, Brian Kirtland, and wife, Ann, brother, Mike Manning, and wife, Betty, grandchildren, Kaleb, Seven, and Tyson, and great grandchildren, Ann, and Steven Jr. and wife, Ashley.
