During a June 17, 2025, special-called meeting, the McCreary County Board of Education authorized the Board Chair and Board Attorney to enter into contract negotiations with Clint Taylor as the next McCreary County School District Superintendent.
Taylor, with over twenty-six years of experience in teaching, leadership, and district-level service, has worked in the McCreary County School District since 2000. During that time, Taylor has served in various roles, including as a teacher, principal, Director of Transportation, Director of Pupil Personnel, and Interim Superintendent. Taylor obtained his B.S. Degree in Education (Math and Social Studies) from Cumberland College, his M.A. degree and Rank 1 from Union College, and completed Ed.S. and Ed.D. degrees from the University of the Cumberlands in 2012 and 2015.
Taylor’s educational philosophy is rooted in providing every child with a foundation of opportunity.
“Every child, regardless of background or circumstance, deserves access to a safe, supportive, and high-quality learning environment where they are challenged, encouraged, and prepared for a successful future,” Taylor stated. “I am committed to developing and supporting effective teachers and leaders, and see family and community engagement as vital components of a thriving school system.”
Taylor and his wife, Wendy, have two daughters and a grandchild and are active members of the Light House Baptist Church. Taylor enjoys farming, gardening, hunting, fishing, and hiking.
Taylor’s contract is expected to be approved by the Board of Education during tonight’s (Tuesday) board meeting.
