Leading by example, McCreary County Judge Executive Jimmie “Bevo” Greene worked alongside 151 other McCreary County volunteers, picking up trash along the McCreary side of Hwy 90 during Saturday’s (April 26, 2025) Cumberland Falls Pride Spring Clean Up. In competition with Whitley County, as Whitley County volunteers cleaned up the Whitley County side of Hwy 90 during the event, McCreary County, with its 152 amazing volunteers, finally won back the trophy for the most volunteers. Since 2017, McCreary County has failed to bring home the trophy for most volunteers participating in the annual spring clean-up event.
Between McCreary and Whitley Counties, volunteers gathered more than 300 bags of trash.
