Fishing Derby

It was a great day for fishing at the Barren Fork Fishing Pond during the U.S. Forest Service’s annual Kids Fishing Derby. After 1,500 pound of catfish were released in the fishing pond on Friday morning, kids happily reeled in more than 700 pounds of prime catfish on Saturday morning. With approximately 117 kids participating, this year’s derby was extra special as every kid who registered and fished in the derby received a prize.
