After conferencing with Chief Deputy Dustin Ridner on August 2, 2023, McCreary County Sheriff (MCS) David Sampson reports he gave the go-ahead for Deputy Ridner to acquire a search warrant for a residence on Vanover Ridge in Parkers Lake, KY. As a result of executing the search warrant, approximately one pound of suspected methamphetamine and other items were seized.
The search warrant was acquired after Wayne County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) deputies arrested Camron Daugherty of Whitley City, KY at the Dollar General Store located on E. Hwy KY 92 and charged him with (1) Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree (methamphetamine) and (2) Possession of a Controlled Substance, 2nd Degree (drug unspecified.) While conducting interviews, enough information was obtained for the WCSO to contact the McCreary County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) and Kentucky State Police (KSP) to obtain a search warrant for the McCreary County residence associated with Daugherty’s mother.
In executing the search warrant in McCreary County, MCSO Deputies (Ridner, Taylor, Lewis, and Chaney) and KSP Trooper Jones located approximately 462 grams of suspected methamphetamine, various other items consistent with trafficking, other suspected drugs, and a handgun (loaded and chambered.)
As a result of the search warrant, fifty-two year old Tonya Daugherty of Parkers Lake was arrested and charged with (1) Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense (> or = 2 GMS Methamphetamine) and (2) Possession of Handgun by Convicted Felon. Other charges against Daugherty include: Probation Violation, Non-payment of Court Costs, Possession of Controlled Substance, 2nd Degree-Codeine, Persistent Felony Offender, and Failure to Appear.
Daugherty was transported and lodged at the Knox County Detention Center.
