South Kentucky RECC members will have the opportunity to vote for the District 3 Director seat in the upcoming director election June 6 – 8, 2023.
Live voting to elect the District 3 Director will occur in a drive-thru format during South Kentucky RECC’s annual membership days held at its five district offices June 6 – 8, 2023 from 7:30am – 4:30pm. All times are local.
The voting schedule will be as follows: June 6 (McCreary and Wayne counties); June 7 (Russell and Clinton counties); and June 8 (Somerset).
Rick Halloran has represented District 3 since 2011 and is being challenged by Charles (CV) Hansford.
South Kentucky RECC’s bylaws stipulate that any uncontested candidate will be declared the winner of the board seat without an election. By virtue of being the only candidates nominated, incumbents Greg Redmon (District 2) and Boris Haynes (District 6) will retain their seats for another four-year term.
The winner of the election will be announced in a few days following the election once all votes are counted and the results certified by South Kentucky RECC’s Credentials and Elections Committee.
All SKRECC members are encouraged to participate in the co-op’s upcoming director election. Democratically-elected Directors by the membership is a hallmark of the cooperative business model and every South Kentucky RECC member-owner has a voice in how the co-op is operated through voting.
To find out whether you or another individual in your household is the “member” of record for purposes of voting in the election, or for more information about the upcoming election, please contact South Kentucky RECC at (800)264-5112.
