Hettie Imogene (Davis) Bowman

Hettie Imogene (Davis) Bowman, age 85, of the Hilltop Community of Stearns, Kentucky, and wife of the late Kenneth Eugene “Pete” Bowman, passed away at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, Monday, February 9, 2026.

Funeral services were held Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home. Burial followed in Wright Cemetery.

She was born on December 29, 1940, in Marshes Siding, Kentucky, to the late Lewis Davis and Artie (Watson) Davis. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a loving grandmother, and a true homemaker whose life was centered around caring for the people she loved most. Nothing brought her more joy than being surrounded by family, and she poured her heart into creating a home filled with warmth, comfort, and simple beauty. She was an avid gardener who took pride in nurturing both flowers and vegetables, and she spent countless hours canning the harvests she grew with such care, especially the homemade jellies and jam she lovingly prepared and shared. She was also a gifted quilter, stitching together pieces that reflected her creativity, patience, and deep affection. Above all, she cherished being a grandmother, delighting in every moment she spent with her grandchildren and showering them with the same steady love she gave her own children. Her legacy lives on in the family she adored, the home she nurtured, the jars she filled, and the quilts—and memories—that will forever wrap us in her love.

Hettie is preceded in death by her son, Randall Bowman; grandchildren, Stewart Allen King and Amelia Elaine Redmon; and great‑grandchildren, Andrew Lewallen, Zerek Slaven, and Jase Bowman. She is also preceded in death by sons‑in‑law, Charles Roberts and David Kidd, and siblings Zella, Maudie, Sula, James, Nelson, Lori, Kenneth, Clifford, Freeman, and Ina.

She is survived by a legacy of love, her children: Sharon Whitehead (Jerry), Rosemary Roberts, Kenny Bowman (Tammy), Scott Bowman (Debbie), Robin Redmon (Paul), Penny Damrell (Sammy), Brian Bowman, Sarah Kidd, and Mark Bowman (Trina).
