Barbara Sue Dixon

Barbara Sue Dixon age 82 years, 10 months, and 29 days, passed away Wednesday October 15, 2025, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.

Graveside service was held Saturday, October 18, 2025 in the Barren Fork Cemetery.

She was born on November 16, 1942, in Paintcliff, Kentucky, to the late John Shepherd and Millie Bolin Shepherd. Known to many as Sue, she found joy in tending to her flowers, caring for her children, and spending peaceful days fishing. Sue also loved playing bingo and was an avid fan of University of Kentucky sports.

Preceding her in death were her parents, brothers, George, Bob, Roger, Donald and Wayne Shepherd, and sisters, Lora Foster, and Brenda Cooley.

Survivors include her husband Bobby Dixon, son, Robert Dixon, and wife, Susan, daughter, Leandra Quinn Bowling, and husband, Brandon, and grandchild, Kameron Shane Bowling.

Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home was honored to serve the family of Barbara Sue Dixon.
