Ronnie was born on January 8, 1950, in McCreary County to Cecil Kidd and Doris Sellers Kidd. A devoted member of Whitley City Second Baptist Church, he served faithfully as Sunday School Secretary for many years and as a member of the Board of Trustees.
Ronnie worked at Lumber King throughout his career, beginning in the lumber mill and rising through the ranks to become Purchasing Agent—a testament to his dedication and work ethic. He also served on the Board of Directors for Lumber King.
Known for his friendly spirit and curious nature, Ronnie never met a stranger. He loved striking up conversations, asking questions, and sharing a good laugh. He had a unique fondness for people-watching, often spending time in parking lots simply observing the world go by. He also enjoyed gospel music, classic tunes by The Beach Boys, and his frequent trips to Harbor Freight. More than anything, Ronnie cherished time spent with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Randall Kidd; his sister, Paulette Jones; and an infant brother.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife, Connie Kidd; his beloved daughter, Crystal Kidd and her fiancé, Jamie Bowling; and Travis Strunk and Jonathon Strunk, whom he loved like sons. He also leaves behind his brother, Gary Kidd and wife Christia; brother-in-law, Ledford Ray Jones; sister-in-law, Linda Kidd; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home was honored to serve the family of Ronnie Kidd.
