Jewell Dean Chavis

Jewell Dean Chavis, passed away Friday, September 26, 2025 at University of Michigan Health West and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.

Private graveside service was held.

She was born October 3, 1949 in Revelo, Kentucky to Columbus Ross and Effie Davis Ross.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, James Edward Chavis, and daughter Teresa.

Survivors include son, James Edwar Chavis Jr., daughters Michelle Ann Grim, brothers, Walter Ross, and wife, Ann, and Kenny Ross, sisters, Faye Clagsett, and husband, David, and Wanda, grandchildren, Brandon, Cassie, Chelsea, Joey, Drew and Tiffany, and great grandchildren Brogan and Liam.

Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home was honored to serve the family of Jewell Dean Chavis.
