Gary Wayne Vickery, Sr.

Gary Wayne Vickery, Sr., age 65 years, of Strunk, Kentucky died Sunday, June 15, 2025 at the Big Southfork Medical Center in Oneida, Tennessee. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 30, 1959 the son of the late Herbert and Wilma Jeraldine “Jerry” (Lovett) Vickery. Gary had worked in a car dealership, janitor and carpet mill. Being with friends, watching and playing sports, and hunting were what he enjoyed. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Herbie Woodall; and sister, Sheila Woodall. Survivors include his wife, Linda (Chitwood) Vickery of Whitley City, Kentucky; son Gary Wayne Vickery, Jr. of Strunk, Kentucky; daughter, Keisha Vickery of Strunk, Kentucky; and grandchildren, Dalton Dakota, Bryson, Tyler, Johnathan, Schyler, and Zoey. Funeral services were held 2pm Thursday, June 19, 2025 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie King officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Run Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 12pm Thursday at the Funeral Home. McCreary County Funeral Home entrusted with the arrangements.
