Time

Time is of the essence, we surely all can say.

Time is surely passing, very, very fast each day.

There’s time for talk, there’s time for play,

But people seem to never have time for God or to pray.

This is not important to some; they just waste it away,

Never giving thought of tomorrow,

Not thinking much of today.

To me, time is important, and in my own way,

I want to be useful, to help someone along the way,

To make their day a little brighter,

And the cares of this life a little lighter,

This is what I am thinking of today.

I want to get this done, and that done, I always say,

But time seems to swiftly pass away.

The things that seem to be important, sometimes really are not.

But, for God, the things I accomplish will not be for naught

For these are the things that are important to Him

And for that, on His timetable, He will allot.

People are people, and God loves them all,

But time is something many do not have, yet they know it not at all.
