Pine Knot’s Carrie Marnhout recently undertook a trip to Northern Europe, spending time with the Berge family. Marnhout became aquainted with the family more than three decades ago, when Dag Berge was hosted by the Marnhout family as an exchange student at McCreary Central High School. Through the preceding years, the family have remained close and Carrie was able to visit the Norwegian family in the small coastal town of Hommersak, near the town of Stavanger, known as the North Sea Oil Capital of Norway.
