Shirley Ann Waters

Shirley Ann Waters, age 88 years, of Strunk, Kentucky died Saturday, March 29, 2025 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky. She was born in Cooperative, Kentucky on June 25, 1936 the daughter of the late Wilburn and Maudie (Young) Winchester. Shirley had been a beautician at her own shop, truck driver, a bus monitor for the McCreary County School System, and was a member of the Stearns First Baptist Church. She enjoyed camping, going to the beach, but especially being with her family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Bradley “Brad” Waters; brother, Johnny Randall Winchester; sisters, Patsy Jones and Barbara Wingate; and a great grandson, Jancetun Wayne Waters. Survivors include her sons, Jack R. Waters and wife, Janice of Somerset, Kentucky, Steven W. Waters and wife, Jean of Stearns, Kentucky; and Timothy L. Waters of Strunk, Kentucky; sister, Brenda Caudill of Oil Springs, Kentucky; grandchildren, Jeremy Waters (Rebecca), Jennifer Cecil (Chris), James Waters (Amber), Stacy Kidd (Dustin), Steven W. Waters II (Amanda), Kristin Seidelman (Dan), and Brett Kidd (Heather); and great grandchildren, Jacob Cecil, Addison Cecil, Isaac Waters, Emma Waters, Abigail Kidd, David Waters, Brooklyn Kidd, Bradlee Waters, Kolton Jones, on the way, Conley Dutton Waters, Ella Seidelman, Caleb Kidd, Audrey Kidd, and Asher Seidelman. Funeral services will be held 3pm Monday, March 31, 2025 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Timothy Corder officiating. Burial will follow in the Brad and Shirley Waters Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11am Monday at the Funeral Home. McCreary County Funeral Home entrusted with the arrangements.
